How Tiers Work

Career Stage, Not Talent

Our five-tier system mirrors international standards used by Artsy, Saatchi Art, and India's Lalit Kala Akademi. Tier assignment is based on career milestones, not subjective talent assessment.

Student tier includes anyone currently enrolled in a recognized BFA, MFA, or diploma art program. Requires student ID verification.

Hobbyist tier is for part-time creators who paint, sculpt, or create for personal fulfillment alongside other primary careers. No prior exhibitions required.

Emerging tier requires at least three years of consistent practice, ten or more sold works, and either group exhibition history or institutional recognition.

Professional tier requires full-time art practice, multiple solo shows or gallery representation, ten or more years of practice, and verified press coverage or institutional collection.

Master tier requires national or international recognition. Examples include Padma Shri or higher state honors, Lalit Kala Akademi awards, works in major museum collections (NGMA, V&A, Met), or sustained career spanning twenty-plus years with significant exhibition history.

Tier upgrades happen automatically as milestones are achieved. Manual review available on request.
